Cook pasta in a large saucepan of salted boiling water, following packet directions, until al dente. Drain and cover to keep warm.
Meanwhile, cook beans according to packet directions, until just tender (see microwave tip). Drain, remove skins and set aside.
Heat the olive oil in a large heavy-based frying pan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until the onion softens slightly. Increase heat to high and add the beans. Cook, stirring, for 2-3 minutes or until heated through. Stir through the parsley.
Add bean mixture to pasta and toss to combine. Taste and season with salt and pepper. Top with Parmesan shavings to serve.
You can use any dried pasta in this recipe. microwave tip: place the beans in a freezer or snap lock bag with 1 tsp water and twist the opening to secure. Cook for 2-3 minutes on High/800watts/100% or until just tender. leftovers: use the olive oil and Parmesan in pan-fried mushrooms with polenta in Menu 5. Use remaining olive oil in dressings.
